EMM Group employs a proprietary methodology to provide facilitated learning of marketing concepts. This learning is about translating the foundational concepts into actual marketing strategies and plans.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is designed to produce business results while embedding lasting capabilities in the organization. Providing an ideal blend of marketing consultation and training, PBL brings together cross-functional marketing teams – typically comprising members from product management, marketing, sales, product development/R&D, operations and finance – in a series of workshops conducted over a period of 3-5 months. Typically, 3-4 teams are selected through a careful chartering process and go through these workshops together, providing a rich cross-team learning environment while leveraging efficiencies in training time and investment. The teams participate in workshops focused on an established business process and approach it through a marketing framework.

The workshops are based on a Learn/Do/Review approach that is essential for integrating training with problem solving. Teams – not just individuals – learn the conceptual marketing framework and associated concrete skills. They learn in the context of their existing business processes and they apply their learning to their real-world business challenges, not to case studies. With PBL, the collaborators design the workshops, facilitate the work of the teams, and subject matter experts work closely with them to help them generate their own solutions. By producing the project deliverables themselves, teams build ‘sweat equity’ in the outcome, genuinely own it, and gain the confidence to replicate their solutions in the organization. Between workshops, coaching sessions help teams resolve issues, ensure progress, and prepare for the next workshop.

Benefits of Project Based Learning

This engaging and highly collaborative environment unleashes the collective creativity of the teams and inspires higher quality output. Because the focus is on your real business challenges, the workshops aren’t simply training exercises. They are “decision accelerators” that get you rapidly and efficiently to strategies and plans that can be executed in the market right away.
